In our Life On Border group we learned a lot of  things about border. Students know how to run the Exploration very well. Students know the goal to run their project. The first step that we can run our project is we learn about our goal. Our goal is Project Summary, Project Outcome, Project Mentors, Field Experiences, 21st Century Learning Skills and Core Curriculum Areas. After we learned about our goal we planned and thought. The situation of the people that live along the border is normal. Some people don’t have money so they don’t have work. Some people go to find work at Thailand so when the people go already some of the people can’t come back. People’s health is not so good at the border because they don’t have money to buy their food. They move to the border because if the people have the money they come to border to sell something because the border have a lot of people came from Russia to the Cambodia. So that why people want to make their business there. The advantage to live there is there are not a lot of bad people at there so it safe for people. The disadvantage to live there is if people don’t have money and they don’t have work they will not be safe for their life. We went to the border to learn and we saw some people have a work and some people don’t have work. Some people have a work but it like cart worker it is not easy to get the money. We interview the cart worker and the sellers. We went to casino to visit, but we didn’t get a chance to go in.

Robotics Description

Exploration Name: Robotics

Exploration Dates: Exploration 3: November 20 – January 17 and Exploration 4: January

Description: In our Exploration class we learned about natural disasters and how to make the robot with the lego bricks. The lego brick is really complicated to do the robot because it is small. The lego box has four sensors: ultrasonic sensor, color sensor, touch sensor and gyro sensor. The ultrasonic sensor is used for measuring the length. The color sensor is used for measuring the reflection of color. The touch sensor is used for touching something that tells about the place. It will send the information to the brain. We learned about how to program, build and about natural disasters. Each of these are very important and it gave lots of advantages because we needed to use all of the skills to do it. Building is the most important, which gives most advantages too because building is the first step to make the robot. Programming is the most difficult part because we need to write the code to make the robot work. When we started to learn our group needed to think about the ideas to make a robot that can do the challenge and complete the four goals of the challenge. They are Mechanical Design, Strategy & Innovation, Robot Performance and Programming. The natural disaster was divided into three parts: Presentation, Innovation Solution means how creative was the solution that we did and Research. The challenge was we needed to make the robot knock down the building, tsunami, take the track and the ambulance to the end zone.The students needed to work ìn a team with six people to have success in the FIRST® LEGO® League in Singapore. We had to look and watch lots of videos to get more ideas. We also looked at the rules of the game in order to learn more about the challenge. Then we went to Singapore to do the challenge.

Community English Description

Exploration Name: Community English Exploration

Dates: August 12th-September 16th Number of Students: 12

Essential Questions: Is there a best way to teach and learn?

Description: Our first opening Exploration was Community English. In Community English we learned how to prepare and teach lessons to other people. But before we taught we needed to find the people who want to learn with us. To find the students we went into the community. After we knew clearly who wanted to come and learn at Liger, we gave the permission to their parents. So all of their parents can trust us. Then they let their child come and learn at Liger. After we knew exactly who would come to learn, we prepared the lesson for them. When we went to the community to find them we also asked them what do they want to learn and that’s how we can prepare the lesson. When we finished planning the lesson we practiced before teaching students. We practiced with each other in our class. Even if we practiced with each other it does not mean that we are expert or good at it. So we had a trip to two schools. The schools are Northbridge and ICAN. At ICAN we met with one woman named Kate. Kate and Jessica prepared the schedule for us and some ICAN students to tour us around. We went there because we wanted to get experiences from the teachers at their school. Two to three days after that we went to Northbridge. At the end of the Exploration we asked some of the students how they felt and what did they think about our teaching (if its good or not). We gave them the lessons for free. How does knowing English effect change?

Carry It Bags Business Description

Exploration Name: Bag Business

Exploration Dates: October 7th-November 19th

Why do we use bags – the purpose of bags?

What is the purpose of creating a prototype?

What processes are needed to create a small profitable business?

Description: When we started this project we thought about Ready-Set-Go, which is a website that helped us get ideas about starting our business. In Ready we thought about our logo, what business and our goals. Then we divided all the students in our group into three different departments.There were Research + Development, Account + Finance and Sales and Marketing. In R+D they worked on how to make our design unique. In A+C they worked on Project balance sheet.Project balance sheet is the sheet that we just think of but it is not happen yet. But S + M is very important because they need to prepare the attitude and be friendly to the buyers who come.After that we took trips to RUFA, Art Gallery, A.N.D, Royal Boutique, Smateria and Wattan.Wattan is a place which made bags for us to paint. At first we decided to make 52 tote bags butthen we wanted another 13 ipad bags. In our last day we all painted the bags already and weopened the shop for the students, staff and visitors to buy bags from our business. On that daywe also used a mannequin to make up and put the bags on it’s hand. At that day we sold nearly all the bags. We also had 2 bags to raffle. This was very fun. We had the promotion about the tickets and one ticket for the adult costs 1$ and for the kids costs 2000៛. From that day each of us got $5 from when we sold.

Reflection of Ly kheangollm

Ly Kheang works in American Embassy. He got a scholarship to learn in the USA for 5 weeks with other 29 peoples in Cambodia country to learn about the plastics and also he has his own group that name “No plastic day”. His group is divided into 5 responsibility.

Concept: Is mean the idea that we tell to other people.The public relation is the people that relationship with other people in the market, students in high school and find the venue for the group and the Media people need to broadcast the thing that the group makes into Video, TV, Radio and also in the newspaper. Fourth is logistics. The Logistic need to be the people that buy the thing for the group but it has the Finance too to cheek after logistic group. In “No plastic day” group are Have the 2 big goals. The first one is to make the students to the leader and help all the community to know how to use the plastics. For making the work process Ly keang group went to 6 provinces to choose the 60 students to learn about plastic and share the Idea about plastic to their community. Ly keang group needs to pay for the New, for the food, sleep, drug when they have the trips.When they work in with their idea some people that come and listen to use do not care about the environment. If we want them to believe us how bad of plastics we need to make them feel the plastic is important and we need to share all idea also try our best. The younger people are the good drug for the adult to change their mindset.Sometimes we have the hard Questions like. EX: If the people that sale the sugarcane juice and we use the plastic what is another strategy that helps us to reduce the plastic? But everything has the answer if we have the idea and you want to do that. I learn from Ly kheang is he and his team make the day called NO PLASTIC DAY. He goes to 3 places it is the supermarket in Cambodia. That is Sorya, Sovanna, city mall he goes his team needs to have the may from the owner of the supermarket. Why he choose to go to the supermarket because supermarket uses a lot of plastic than another market in Cambodia. Also, he thinks supermarket have a lot of people go every so he can tell a lot of people in Cambodia.Ex: When he went to the small market not a lot of people go.

to shopping and he can tell only abit of people but if he go to super market a lot of people go to super market every day so he can tell a lot of people and a lot of information to cambodian people. Why he do no plastic day because he want cambodian people to love the environment don’t throw the rubbish around and every place. If cambodian people can do like what he tell in supermarket it mean they can help your country, family, and your environment. Also I learn is the plastic it bad for you but if we want to don’t use the plastic we need to find another way to use the thing that not make from the plastic. Ex: When we buy the rice and we alway put the plastic so you have to find another way to put the rice. But not like see the plastic throw it away you need to use sometimes if you really need to use it you can use but if it ok to use the thing not plastic please do it. Ex: when you go to buy the sugarcane and the seller have nothing to use except the plastic you can bring you own bottle because we you use plastic a lot it not good for you so you. But the seller don’t just stop to do something you need to think more about what strategies that we can use but not with the plastic. If you have the way to use other thing but not plastic it mean you can help you country and you family also your environment. I learn is ly kneading he have the good brain he is the people that like to people by do that job and he do that job for free no one give the money for him he just want to help and he do this job for 1 year. Why he do for 1 year because he need to study more. Also why he do this job for free because he don’t need the money  he just want cambodian people to learn about environment and help cambodia to be clean also he want Cambodia to be the beautiful country and beautiful city  also every thing in cambodia is the clean country. If everyone think like him cambodia will be the clean country. And when our country is is clean and environment good and we will do have any sickness and no a lot of people sick. When everything around you is clean so when you do something is alway good and we have the beautiful house and everyone is will happy. When Ly Kheang came to our school I learned a lot from him. Like the way that can make our environment clean or better. The way can help the environment that he told us is tell the people in community how bad the plastics waste is. One more thing is we can do the activity to help environment like pick up the plastics around your house or the village. He told us that we can teach people in community how to use the plastics in the good way. Another thing is if you to buy something to eat and you can hold it don’t the plastics. Ly Kheang said the plastics is really bad for our health. Other things is we told that is we need to reuse the plastics. When we want to presentation to the people in community the best way is show the video to them to them understand more. Also if we want them to help the environment it need to start from you. He showed us about the video that he did the activity with the students from 6 provinces. When we do the presentation to community people and we want them to interesting at our presentation we need to put the picture, have some game and the video. One more thing that I learn from Ly Kheang is some solution that we can reduce plastic like we go to eat a t the restaurant and when we go shopping we take a natural bag like bag make from fabric and busket. On the day that Ly Kheang came to our school he told us a lot about his project. He can make this project because US embassy support him. He made this project because he had two main goals. The first one is make people share their own ideas and the second one is change cambodia’s environment to be a better place. One think that he really think that it is going to happen and his hopeness is changing people’s behaviour. This means make people interesting in using others things than plastic. He made one video to share on the “ No Plastic Day ” to give the ideas to people. He showed us one video that talk about Plastic Planet: The quote in this video is “Don’t let me be the plastic planet!!!!” ( Earth Quote). My reflections when Ly Kheang presented to our class is he have the activity”No Plastics Day” That activity is make me very interested. That activity want to give some education another people that don’t know about the plastics and the disadvantage of the plastics. Ly Kheang have the first activity to us for make an introduction and he asked us what we have learned in Liger and what our name, where we are from. He wanted us to acted the sound of the animals that we like and we acted the sound in the class together. He showed the video and the plastics that he have been does it. He gave us a lot of education about lastics like plastics can make water, soil and air pollutions. The air pollution is when we burn the rubbishes the bad smoke of the rubbishes is going up make the air up there not have a good health and it have a problem to our breathe and lungs. The soil pollution when we throwing the plastics on the soil the soil don’t have the nutrients and don’t have a lot of plants or trees not grow there any more. The organisms at there will don’t have any more too. The water pollution when we throwing the plastics on to the land, if it have the strong wind the plastics will blowing up or it’s drop on to the water and dripping into the water it can be a trap for other organisms that live in the water. Ex: When the plastics dripping into the water, when the fish come the plastics are cover the fish. The plastics can be the foods for the organisms in the water. When the fish eat the plastic then it have other fish eat that fish. Next the people catch the fish that eat the fish that have plastics. When we take to the supermarket the seller cover the plastic and the people buy that fish and people eat that fish the people can get the chemical from the fish because the fish eat the plastics that have chemical. So plastics are to bad to our environment and the earth will be the plastics planet. I learn about the video when he make the video he want to clean the cambodia. When he make video some peoples they respect but some they not respect because they think when have plastic I can sell something or buy something. Why he make the video because he want to help the environment and the animals to have the place to live and don’t have  the food to eat. When the forest is gone the people’s will gone to because the peoples is need water to drink and oxygen to breath that thing is come from the forest give to us to have a life but when they give the life but peoples don’t want to respect the forest they will not good for you. He tell us to choose the one sound of animals then we pluss together.  When I we want to go to market or something we can buy some peoples they use the plastic but some peoples they use the basket. But most of peoples now they use the plastic but the peoples before they use the basket or other thing. When we want to take care of environment we need to not use a lot of plastic and the thing that make from plastic. When we use the plastic some time when they go to in the sea the fish is eat but the plastic is have chemical when the fish eat make them die and the big fish is come to eat again and again but when the peoples catch that fish and use to make the good fish but that is is still have chemical. When they get the fish into factory and it bad for the earth because the factory is make the smoke and the smoke is can kill the animals and can kill the peoples, trees too. When we use the plastic to buy something is not good for the soil and the animals in the soil they want to make compost the plastic getting out the chemical they the plastic can make the soil not good and can make the animals in the soil die too. When the plastic go in the sea they go on the some small animals the plastic is can go on them and the animals is will die because the animals is can’t find the food and don’t have the place to go. When in the earth use a lot of plastic it good for some factory that make the plastic because they can make a lot of money and the peoples that not use the plastic when the smell of plastic get the smell out then not the peoples that make the plastic is sick when sick one the peoples is need to sick all  because the plastic is have a lot of chemical and like 1000 year they can recycle. But when we use the leaves or the bag make from three but not use a lot when we stop to use when we throw on the soil is easy to make their own compost and we not use a lot of money to buy them some peoples they can make their own bag. But some time we really need to use it we can use but don’t use a lot of plastic.The plastic is have a lot of problem when we burn it it can make the world is hotter and hotter but when we just throw away the plastic is can kill the animals like bird they don’t have something to eat and they get the plastic to eat and they will die but not only the bird is eat the plastic when don’t have the food they eat together. What i lea Kheang is they make the activity “ No plastic day ”. That activity make me very interesting. I learn the problem from the video is people really don’t want to use plastics but they need to use for different reason. People in cambodia use plastics for 20 minute and then they throw it away. So people not use plastics very well. He said if you buy one thing from market it is small thing and we don’t need plastics but you put plastics, that why the world have a lot of plastic. If the people use a lot of plastics the world will make a lot of plastic. 1million plastics has been use in 1 minute over the world. The plastics is very dangerous to the organism that under water.

When the people throw the rubbish and the rain come the water will float the plastics into the water. When the fish eat the plastics it will be sick or die. When the people go to catch the fish and when they eat the fish they will be sick it the same as they eat the plastics.
